Yep. Picked it up back at the end of September. Sadly it's rotted in the driveway since. Have been sorting out the interior and it's been taking forever. Mostly waiting on parts. Doesn't help I work 10 hours a day and with it fall now, it's dark when I get home. Also had to rebuild the headlights. Just waiting for the upholstery shop to finish the split leather on the upper dash. They had a setback but they are really backed up due to a shipping delay on stuff. Really hope they get that done soon because they've had it for over a month. And I 'm still waiting on my new license plates to come in. Getting really furious about that and the DMV could care less when I called them.

Today I picked up a new fuel filler cap for it since the original looks worn out. $35. Yes I could get one online for about $20 at most places. But then it's about another $10-12 for shipping so really there's not much savings.

Wow you got fall there? We kinda skipped it and went straight to winter here in Michigan. In less than a month we went from pool open (not heated) 8" snowstorm and early morning windchill below zero. I was hoping for a couple weeks of mild weather to do the ignition refresh kit on the E34.

Yeah the weather has actually been really mild and sunny the past few weeks. But sadly our offical start to winter will begin by the beginning of next week of cold misearble nonstop rain for probably the rest of the month possibly longer.

Update on the beast.

Got the drivers seat back together. That new bottom seat foam is heavenly lol. Ordered a new lock actuator for the drivers door. Should be in Monday or Tuesday. Other than that all need is the dashboard done and I can put the interior back together. Forgot to call the upholstery shop this week, so I'll call them Monday. But something tells me they haven't finished it yet. It's frustrating but it's an upholstery shop. They are always busy.

But nothing frustrates or in this case royally pisses me off than with the license plates. Called the DMV and finally got a person who actually had no problem doing a more in depth check for me on if they shipped out yet. They have the info of the car passing DEQ. But absolutely nothing about papers for registration or even a purchase order. Called the dealer who I got the car from and the credit union since I have a small loan for the car through them. They both just told me that the California DMV wanted proof of the car passing DEQ even if it is being sold out of state before sending out the info to the Oregon DMV. Nothing was ever brought up about that when I got the car 2 months ago. Even more irritating is that neither the dealer or credit union mentioned anything until I finally asked them about it. I sent them a copy of the DEQ test. Said it should be processed by the end of this week (doubtful) or the end of next. Even then, I'm still going to have to wait who knows how long before I'll eventually get my plates and registration. Probably sometime after the new year

Oregon does allow me to drive around with trip permits from other states. But annoyingly the California trip permit expiration date for my car wore off so it's useless. Can't get a new one. I can buy an Oregon trip permit, but it's $30 for a tag that last only 21 days. And your only allowed 2 permits for the same car a year. So beyond furious about this.

California absolutely sucks for buying cars... the only easy thing to do is crush your car for $1,000 if you're a CA resident... and that pisses me off. They act like they're saving the planet, meanwhile they're crushing perfectly good cars. But that's a rant for another day! Lol

Hopefully they finish up the dash next week and you'll get the registration so you'll actually be able to drive the car by the end of the year!

Not to mention it takes more energy to crush the cars than it took to build them. But to them one less car is saving the planet. That whole state pisses me off with everything now. Especially with those stupid cancer warnings on everything. Give it time, and they'll want to have those warnings tattooed on our forheads or asses. I hate how once California passes some stupid law eco law, it's not long before the us government forces it on everyone else. Case in point those god awful "low" flush toilets that clog every time. It's even worse that Oregon is so desperate to be like them too.

And even if the stuff was processed this week or next. It takes 30-45 days in Oregon to get plates and registration. But since they are notorious for being slow. It'll probably be mid to late January when I get them.

Got car towed home from Wawa 2 miles away, just completed timing chain replacement job and drove about 25 miles since the job is done, parked at Wawa then cranks no start.

Their level of stupidity never ceases to amaze me!

NC has gotten way better about processing times, when I renewed my Miata online, it only took a week to get the sticker in the mail. Before, it took well over 2-3 weeks.
Titles on the other hand... that takes a while. 2-3 weeks to get that in the mail. Which sucks for when I'm trying to sell a car. There's one office in Charlotte though that offers instant titles that they can give you right over the counter, but they charge $94 while if you can wait, it's only $52. Also it's probably 30 minutes away from me versus 10 to get to my usual DMV.
For the plates, they will give that to you right over the counter at the DMV. I've never had to wait, fortunately.

Gotta be something simple, maybe a connector came loose for something? That sucks!

Looks like no fuel pressure, might be a dead fuel pump, I heard low frequency woo woo sound inside cabin especially at idle before and after the timing chain job, that might be the sign of fuel pump is going to bust, but I still need to test fuel pressure at fuel rail, fuses and relay, track down to fuel pump connector to see if there is 12v at connector, maybe then apply 12v power directly to the pump to test if it is working to make determination. Spark plugs are all new NGK.

Ugh that reminds me. I still need to change the fuel pump before I put the interior back together on my car, then the filter.
