E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Check Engine Light- Code 2d “Coolant Temperature Sensor”

Hi All,
Today’s problem on my 1988 325i Convertible is that the “Check Engine” light keeps coming on. I have reset it a few times with my Peake R5/FCX-3 code reader. But it keeps coming back. The code per the Peake tool is “2d”, which per their booklet is a “Coolant Temperature Sensor”.

I’ve recently replaced both of the Coolant Temperature Sensors, so I don’t think it is a sensor issue. Someone told me that the thermostat could be causing the problem. But this was a guess.

Any idea? Just brainstorming at this time so all suggestions welcome.
Thanks
