G30 (2017 - Current)
The next generation 5 Series, chassis code G30, arrives at dealers in February 2017. Looking like a scaled down 7 Series and riding on the CLAR platform, the new 5 Series will have a focus on lightweight and sporty performance. Engines options will come from BMW's new B family for the 530 and 540 and a turbocharged V8 for the M550i. Read more about the 2017 5 Series

Noise when turning left

Hello,
My BMW 540 has often been making a clicking noise when turning hard left. It has been intermittent for 4 months but it now more persistent. I visited my dealer 3 months ago and they could not find anything wrong with it. But for the past week, it has been more annoying. I will schedule an appointment with dealer soon.
Anyone had this issue? any ideas?

P.S. My BMW has 15,000 on it.

Thank you.

I hear a slight noise when turning sometimes. Not certain but I ascribe it to the gyro in the seatbelt mechanism or perhaps the mirror. It's sporadic and doesn't bother me.

I hear NO NOISES when turning at low or any speeds. 2017 540xDrive w/23,000 miles

Check for a stone in one of your tire treads - OR something else :-( that might be hitting the road surface when turning.

Does your car have IAS? I, too, hear a click-click-click noise when I max-turn to the left. It sounds like it's coming from the right rear wheel, which makes me think it might be IAS.

No, I don't have IAS but I get the same sound when accelerating and turning left. The weird thing that it does not occur every time I drive the car which makes it very difficult for the dealer to locate the problem.
