G30 (2017 - Current)
The next generation 5 Series, chassis code G30, arrives at dealers in February 2017. Looking like a scaled down 7 Series and riding on the CLAR platform, the new 5 Series will have a focus on lightweight and sporty performance. Engines options will come from BMW's new B family for the 530 and 540 and a turbocharged V8 for the M550i. Read more about the 2017 5 Series

Upgrading tire and rim advice

I currently have a 2017 530i with the stock OEM 634 18's but i'm wanting to upgrade to the 20' OEM 759 rims. Is it just as simple as a swap or do I have to do anything different. And I really don't want to have a staggered setup I would rather have a square set up, do you think that would look fine or would it look funny not having it staggered.

There are no 20" OEM wheels for the car that are not staggered. There really is nothing else to do except pair the TPMS which is easy to do.

Don't you need to select the 20" wheels in iDrive?

Also, this one's just out of ignorance b/c I'm on 20s - but is tire pressure the same for the different wheel sizes? On my 20s, I'm supposed to run ~40psi front and 45psi rear. Is that the same for 18s and 19s?

If not, that could make a difference.

Not sure if it matters but I have the Sport line with the 18' rims/tires. But would I be fine getting the 20's, aren't they 20x8 in the front and 20x9 in the back? But I could just get all the same size tires for the squared set up correct?
