Carolinas! Sound off!

Are there any BMW enthusiasts in North Carolina or South Carolina? If so, where?

I'll start! Charleston, SC!

Congrats on the BMW! What did you get? Enjoying it so far?

From what I know, the BMWCCA has a chapter in Greenville, SC. Not sure if there is one in the Charlotte area, but you may want to check it out. They host events and rallies to take the Bimmer out and have fun with folks like us.

I got a 2014 328i. I was able to do PCD and that was a great time. I love the car and drive it a lot more than I thought just because it's that fun to drive. I posted on the bmw intro page, that as a kid I lived in Illesheim, Germany, dad is in the Army and we were there 1988 to 91. I was 11 and washing BMW's at a dealer right outside of post. Loved em sense then. This is my first but won't be my last. I will check, Charlotte is big and I'm sure there has to be a club here. How long have you been driving Bimmers?

Believe it or not, a little less than a year. I was born in Berlin, Germany so it was always a battle with me whether or not I was going to go with Mercedes or BMW. Obviously, because I'm a performance nut, I went with the Bimmer. I loved my 2011 328i, but early this year I wrecked it when a lady pulled out in front of me. Since then, I bought a brand new X1 and love it! I'm putting way too many miles in but I could care less. It gives me another excuse to buy another one sooner!

It's certainly an addiction that came on full force when I finally ventured away from American cars. I still have a 74 Camaro and you can't replace American muscle, but there is a completely different feeling driving the BMW.

I actually know a couple of salespersons at the Hendrick BMW up there. It's a good dealership from what I understand. And yes, I'm sure there's a club or something up there. Charlotte is a bigger city.

Germany was great!! Everyone was so nice. We had an Audi 100, yes 100, lol. It was bright yellow. We would get smoked on the autobahn. Every time a car passes it would shake like crazy, haha. My folks eventually bought a 1991 Volvo 240 direct from Sweden. I still have that car to date. You can't kill it and she is my baby. I would like to go back to Germany one day, great memories.

That's awesome. Audi 100, huh? Hey, it serves a purpose. I would like to go back to Germany one day too. We left in 1986 and I was too young to remember much.

I would like to do European Delivery one day. I think it would be fun to say that I took my car on the Autobahn. But most definitely just want to go back and see Berlin.

That's awesome Rob. Welcome to the family. There are tons of Bimmers throughout the Carolinas, especially with the Plant and Driving School in Spartanburg, SC. Now it's just trying to connect with them.

There is always the BMWCCA (Car Club of America) that has the Tarheel Chapter in Greensboro, NC and the Sandlapper Chapter in Greenville, SC. They host Rallies, autocrosses, car shows and other events. They hold meetings throughout the state a few times a month to meet with members and for planning. The members also get discounts and benefits with certain vendors. Definitely check it out.

Nice to see someone else from the Charleston area! We will need to get that thing restored and take her for a spin! I know there is a BMWCCA meeting at West Ashley Crab Shack on Aug 14th. You may want to pick their brain for resto tips.
