Anyone going for an M8?

What's up guys, been a while since I've hit the forums so I've been out of the loop. Didn't even know there was an 8 series on the horizon until it had already hit the streets.

I figure I'll just hold off until the M8 hits the market. I've seen some rumors about the availability date, but I'm not one to pay anywhere near MSRP for a car so I'll wait until some decent discounts can be had. If anyone is doing the same, let's keep each other updated on negotiations and timing.

Gave up cars for a while and just stuck with my truck, but every now and then I do miss having a big body bmw to unleash.

Yes, I intend to purchase the M8 Competition Convertible. Some information has been released online this past week, or so. Looks like the Competition Convertible with be about $155k, but I'm not so sure about the packages/options? Production apparently begins next month. I'm gonna keep following the threads this next week to learn more.

Also, there is NO WAY I will be paying full ask, or a markup on this vehicle. I can usually get a steep discount on my BMW's the end of the first year, towards the second year for sure. I wanna see if I get lucky and get a discount this winter, when sales are slow.

There doesn't seem to be a ton of interest in the 8 series in N.A ( or even the 7, really). Shouldn't be too difficult, or too long of a wait, to negotiate a deep discount on the M8. Due to the product cycle, these prestige models always seem to debut at the tail-end of the bull market anyway - and once the economy starts to slow then they dump them for not much more than the price of the standard model. I've seen this happen with M6's and SL63s - lease price ends up being only slightly more than a 650 or SL550. Some of the manufacturers just like having them on the road for brand status.

I have a strong personal connection via a friend of a dealer. wondering what you think the "steep" discount is that one can get on an M8CV in spring 2020? also for the new M4? I am more than likely going to save the dough and get the M4CV, though I am awaiting the unveil later this week to see if it even counts. the M8 looks sick, but I've not really liked the 850 in person as it just looks like a pancake.. Hoping the M body work improves it!
