2013 X3 xdrive 28i N20 engine Valve Cover Gasket

Hello. New to forum. Took veh to BMW for brake fluid flush service. During that service, tech advised per visual inspection, I need new valve cover gasket bc of slight oil leak. Before that service, no issues with oil level or white smoke on cold start up. BMW wants $1100 to complete the job. Decided to pass since wasn't HUGE issue right away and try to do the job myself. Purchasing my parts from bmw, but after doing a lil research, it was suggested that I also change the entire valve cover bc my veh has 70k mi on it. Anyone have experience enough to agree or disagree with that? Saw a couple videos on YouTube for instructions, but the best one I've seen was sped up with no written instructions. Therefore would be difficult for me to follow and know I'm disconnecting/connecting nec components. Doesn't seem like it will be a piece of cake, but I'm a lady with a lot of patience and willing to take 4-5 hrs to do it correctly. Anyone has good video or manual with clear instructions for me to follow, that you don't mind sharing with me? Thanks in advance!

Try youtube and select Kies motorsports. They have a bunch of well-done videos on servicing the N20.
