call voice command option

Is there a short cut that will call a number directly? When I call my wife (I have 3 different numbers for her) I can't get it to dial directly off the first command. I have to wait for it to confirm the person I asked for from my contacts, wait for it to tell me there are 3 numbers of that person and to pick a number and confirm it. I have tried "Call X on cell" or "Call X on mobile" but neither of those work. All I have been able to find is that "Call" is a short cut vs going down the menu path. I find it hard to believe BMW didn't account for this common command.

Push the command button, say, call "name, Mobil", for example.

Occasionally I get that response too when I'm calling a contact with multiple numbers :-(
Maybe I'm not being heard correctly {my wife seems to have the same problem with me too ???!!!???}
But for the contacts I routinely call from the car I use 3 of the shortcut buttons.

Ditto luigi524td...use one of the 8 pre-programmed iDrive buttons (they can be used for more than 8 radio stations ).

Or you could rename your wife's 3 different numbers and give them something different like wife1, wife2, wife3...or wife/home, wife/work, wife/spa...then when you need to call her...use the numbered or name specific handle that would be the telephone number you want to call. {don't add "on" in-between her name and whatever you use...make it one word like Susan1, Susan2, Susan3}

+1 on shortcut buttons - I have wife home, cell, and the local Chinese restaurant on three of the buttons.

In our family we have 3 cars with voice commands and none of them works worth a crap - maybe it's my voice. I don't (think I) have any type of strong accent either...

When I was going to Air Intercept Controller school while in the Navy I didn't want to put Fleet Combat Training Center blah blah blah in our personal phone book so I used the facility's callsign; Ruth. Apparently my wife was looking for a number and found "Ruth" and we were on a WESTPAC at the time. I got a bit of a snarky letter with a by-the-way who's Ruth! We were on our way to the P.I. so could do nothing until we arrived. I called her (at $1 per minute in 1978) and tried to explain. She wasn't too sure so I told her to just call the number and she'll see. I don't know if she ever did, but we joke about it now.
