Is E-sys closed? Are you getting fallback IP in connection manager? Is car running?

Car is running, E-sys close and empty screen in connection manager (no fallback). I also got this message "The vehicle could not be identified. Please check the access to the vehicle and check whether the testing-analysis-diagnosis has been activated".

Try using Windows to repair connection. If that fails, let car rest and try later.

I'll try that... but the strange thing is that I tried to connect with E-sys and it's working, I clicked on read and it worked! you mentionned earlier to try to re-read and look for error... would it be clear that there are error or if I need to dig? The read process was instantanious and no error poped up.

BTW I really appreciate your help!

With E-sys, Read SVT and make sure DME has CAFD and not corrupt. The next thing to do after reading is to "Calculate Test Plan."

I thought that might be the case. You must inject:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT => Left-Click on desired DME => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from your I-Level => Select OK => Right-Click on DME (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

Before selecting Code, make sure only ignition is on (engine should be off). If any other ECU's are missing CAFD, then you can do same procedure, but engine can be running on those.

Thaks... just did it for DME2 and all error are gone.

FEM_GW and GWS don't have CAFD... do I need to repeat the process for those since I don't have error anymore? I have that screen poping when I try to Detect caf for swe for the two others:

Carly may be able to minimally diagnose, but unlikely fix.

ISTA+ will say similar or missing encoding if CAFD absent or corrupt. E-sys can inject.

Did you get this fixed? Heard of someone having a similar issue with BimmerCode and they reset the idrive from the car and it seemed to resolve the issue. Almaretto is right that ESys should be able to clear it up though.

I think you need to get a laptop and a cable. ESys is probably going to be the only way to fix this short of a trip to the dealer.

Here is one more tip that I have not yet seen on cheat sheets... To automatically activate reversing camera and PDC when car rolls backwards, go to PDC --> 3009 --> AKTIVIERUNG_RUECKWAERTSROLLEN --> set to aktiv.

Vehicle should, from factory, automatically enable when in reverse. Is your car rolling backwards in drive?

Yes it does turn the camera and PDC on automatically on reverse. This is for those cases that you want to roll back the car in neutral or if you had a manual stick. Maybe not that useful but ran into it.

A more useful function would be the PDC to turn on automatically in slow speeds when front is getting close to an obstacle.

You need parking module (PMA) for auto-PDC.
