Combox question (2010 CIC compatibility with 2014 535i)

I've been searching online, and it's getting very confusing and frustrating, so i would appreciate some inputs from anyone who has done this before or knows about this conversion which would greatly help:

what i know:
I have a 2010 BMW 535i Xdrive
CIC (Not CCC)
2 USB outlets (under the center armrest and in the glovebox)
The following are included in my car (using m decoder)
S609A Navigation System Professional
S620A Voice Control
S639A Preparation F Mobile Phone Cpl USACDN
S655A Satellite Tuner
S697A AreaCode 1 For DVD
S6AAA BMW TeleServices
S6ABA Control For Teleservices
S6FLA USBAudio Interface
S645A BMW US Radio

what i want:
bluetooth streaming ability

what i think i need:
Combox controller from E90 or F10 production post 2010
anything else? (there is a wiring DIY for the connectors that i found and i feel comfortable doing, if you google this: "DIY How to make a Combox plug & play retrofit harness" you will get the DIY i'm talking about)
some coding required (i only have the E60 NCSexpert and the INPA and the corresponding communication wire, USB not Ethernet)

Would that work?:
a 2014 production Last 7 VIN is d539521 which DOES NOT SAY COMBOX in the options list (using m decoder), but it has:
Multimedia
S609A Navigation System Professional
S610A Headup Display
S655A Satellite Tuner
S688A HARMANKARDON SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM
S697A AreaCode 1 For DVD
S6ACA INTELLIGENTER NOTRUF
S6AEA TELESERVICES
S6AKA CONNECTEDDRIVE SERVICES
S6AMA REAL TIME TRAFFIC INFORMATION
S6ANA CONCIERGE SERVICES
S6APA REMOTE SERVICES
S6ARA INTERNET
S6NSA KOMFORTTELEFONIE MIT ERW SMARTPHON
S6WAA INSTRUMENTENKOMBI M ERW UMF
S645A BMW US Radio

any help would be appreciated, i'm trying to get up to speed to know what i need (hardware, software, and which production dates and chassis codes i should target for the surrogate) and what to look for.

2014 was the first year for LCI which gave it a different IDrive, NBT
Combox was integrated, you need the combox for your CIC.
Are you sure all that is worth it to stream via Bluetooth?

That's exactly a glimpse of the information I'm looking for. One of the things I'm looking for is which years and chassis numbers (E90, F10, what else?, and even within the F10, which years would be compatible with the E60 CIC). Thanks. So for starters I should be looking at F10 up to 2013 model year, what about the E90s?

I don't know much about the E90's.
I also don't know much about trying to retrofit "pieces" of IDrive.
Typically it is all or none.
Research "retrofit IDrive", everything was is so integrated you can't really take one piece out.

Suggest an alternate route if all you want is bluetooth streaming: purchase an Android screen replacement for the iDrive screen. You keep your existing ccc/cic but it adds the ability to bluetooth stream(albeit through the AUX port). Nav continues to be there and you can use your existing GPS antenna. Should be a straightforward installation w/ the need for any coding. This simply adds new functionality and if you want to switch back to the stock BMW screen, all you have to do is hold the Menu button down for 3 seconds.

I've looked into adding a Combox in the past and I know the E90/1/2/3 are compatible. I've read that you can get one from an E81, E82, E84, E87, E88, E89, E90, E91, E92 or E93. I'm not sure about the F10. The one part number I saved is 84 10 9 257 160. You can look that part # up on realoem and see the older and new parts. One thing you need to be careful of is there are two versions of the Combox. COMBOX Media (Media/Music, BT, phone) and COMBOX Telematic (Media plus BMW assist). The version should be listed on the part number sticker. I do not believe the telematic features can be coded to work correctly in the e60 and needs to be coded out/off when installed so it is easier to install the media version. You would loose the BMW Assist/SOS call feature, but that probably does not work since BMW stopped supporting it at the end of 2016.
