Tire pressure sensor

The light for tire pressure lights up randomly until I put some air in one of the tire. while I was putting air I noticed that the stem got stock and started releasing the air until I pushed it in again to stop it. Is there an easy and inexpensive fix to the stem?
thank you

Yes. Schrader valves are an independent separate part of the stem.

If you have TPMS on your 328i, and it randomly reports the SAME tire low, you should take the time to understand how simple and cheap the solution to certain issues really is, and spend a small amount on tools & supplies to fix those things yourself.

Whether you have Metal valve stems for TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System), or Rubber Valve Stems for FTM (Flat Tire Monitor), either stem has a "Valve Core" or "Schrader Valve" inside the stem, that screws in/out inside the stem. Here is a simple/ cheap kit to get replacement Valve Cores, and a tool to screw the core in/out of the stem:
https://www.amazon.com/Slime-20088-4...%2C141&sr=8-18

ANY decent auto parts store carries such a tool and valve cores.

FIRST simply try tightening the core that is in the stem. It MAY just be loose, and it MAY operate & seal correctly if you just "snug it up" by turning Right-Hand thread clockwise to tighten. If you need to replace it, do it at an air pump, as you will lose ALL the air in the tire before you can insert the replacement Valve Core. If you do NOT have Run Flat tires, you should either remove the wheel, or jack that corner of the vehicle to "unweight" the tire. If you FAIL to do that, the bead may break loose from the rim when the tire collapses flat, and you will have a difficult time reseating the bead.

Simple/cheap fix if you have the right tool/ part, and understand basics about tires. "Simple" job can get VERY frustrating and time-consuming if you do NOT understand pitfalls & plan ahead.

George
