Is it possible to clean any scuff marks off of the leather? Would some white leather shoe polish do the trick? Mr Clean magic eraser?

I still don't understand what they expect people in the US to match the Jade Grey with...we need black trim BMW.

Thanks for the scoop!
Man, I was thinking the same thing. I was leaning towards the Sedan just to get the Lemon. I prefer the coupe but couldn't decide on a two-tone Interior. Didn't care for black again and found the Saddle a little too light for my tastes. Terra would have been a nice choice, but again - a Sedan only choice.
Now all my problems are solved. E92 with Jade Grey. I only need to choose the exterior - Green, Space Grey, or Sparkling Graphite (leading the way), but in reality all 3 would be great with Jade. The Jade Grey is too hot for words!

Thanks for the heads up Adrian!!!!!

Jade Gray + Gray Poplar would be absolutely gorgeous. If that combo was offered when I purchased I probably would have opted for the coupe.

There ya go. I agree about that set of exteriors, but I'm gonna go in for Sparkling Graphite myself. I've done the green in the form of Sea Green in the E46 era (which I thought was fabulous... and so unique.). I'm thinkin' the Grey Poplar too. I'll just be spending the rest of the time to pick an engine.

Has anyone seen pics of Jade Gray with anything other than the black high gloss or grey poplar? Those are the only Ones I could find, but I imagine it would work well with Light Poplar.

Would a few members who have ordered the Jade Grey mind confirming if this is correct or not?

When I first made the change to Jade Grey, I was not charged extra for the option since I had ZPP. However, after adding the Style 230 rims I am now being charged an additional $1450/$1320 on top of the $2550/$2320 for ZPP.

I think this is a little odd and now I am regretting adding the Style 230 rims.

First, allow me to sincerely apologize publicly that I could not contain my excitement about the introduction of Jade Leather as an available leather upholstery for the E92/93. It's recently come to our attention that Jade Grey Dakota Leather is a $1,450 additional cost option. After initially modifying the order, this option in the price column appears in the vehicle inquiry as "blocked". It's easy to assume that this option is "free." It is not. Evidently, when you make an inquiry on the vehicle after the "block" has been lifted, the price of $1,450/$1,320 appears.

This did not happen as a result of adding the 20"s. The premium package, priority 1 leather, and premium package are mutually exclusive.

Furui, Irv, and anyone else who has ordered Jade Grey Leather, you need to pull a new inquiry. The charge will now be present.

Again, my sincere apologies for not catching this. Nevertheless, I strongly believe that the exclusivity of getting a priority 1 leather upholstery is certainly worth its keep.

Adrian, before I write an angry rant, let me ask a clarifying question:

Since there's no reason you would have thought Jade Gray cost LESS than a standard leather option, I'm assuming that you're saying Lemon and Jade Gray are an extra $1450 even w/ ZPP. Which begs the question, if you don't get ZPP are Lemon and Jade $2900 or $1450?

lsleelee, there's no reason I thought it would cost less than the other leather upholsteries. I safely assumed it would be complimentary like Lemon in the premium package of an E90. Thus, as a stand-alone upholstery, it is indeed the same value as the other upholsteries, but it is truly an "extra" $1,450 on top of premium package.

Here's an example of a 335i coupe I have coming in with Jade Grey and it's clearly evident that it's being charged:

Design/MSRP
Description MSRP

Model 0833 335i Cp USD 40,800.00
Color 475 Black Sapphire Metallic 475.00
Upholstery LCD2 Leather Dakota Jade Grey 1,450.00

840 Increased top speed limiter N/C
322 Comfort Access system 500.00
494 Heated front seats 500.00

6UH Real Time Traffic Information N/C
Net Total 50,820.00
Destination Charge 775.00

There's no reason to rant. I came across a bulletin last night which clearly states the values for all priority 1 leather upholsteries from the 1 Series, the 3 Series, 5 Series, X3, and X5 and their effective dates.

This was exactly what I thought as soon as I was told about the charge. Jade should be $2900 by itself, yet when it is added by itself it is only $1450. This means I end up paying $2550 for bluetooth and auto dimming mirrors? That does not add up at all!

You are basicaly being penalized if you want Jade and Premium, but if you dont want Premium you get out with "discounted" Jade.

I have a car on order with the Jade Grey - and there is not a charge for it on the order. Is this going to be a nasty surprise?

Yes, this doesn't make sense. Maybe the addition of Jade recently to the system has not been coincided with the reduction of the charge should you get the ZPP? Adrian I'm not doubting you, I just don't want it to be true!

Any way to just contact BMW and ask them? I can't find their #.

It doesn't make sense, why charge the coupe for the Priority 1 but not the sedan? So if the sedan people want Lemon its free?

I wouldn't consider it a penalty, but rather an up charge for getting something more exclusive akin to Individual.

For example, the X5 has saddle brown leather available for an additional $1,450. It's not included in Premium Package. I recall having a fest member in the X5 forum get this and he paid extra.

Yeah, I think it's really bizarre that only people who order ZPP will have to pay extra for the upholstery.

But Individual has extended and/or higher quality leather. This is a standard leather that's standard price in Europe which BMW arbitrarily held back from us.

It's a pet peeve of mine, businesses artificially creating "exclusivity/rareness" to inflate value. The women in my life get pearls [which are actually moderately rare] instead of diamonds [one of the greatest scams ever perpetrated].

Jon posted them here, but it hasn't been revised to reflect the addition of Jade Grey for the coupes and terra cotta and lemon for the 1 Series.

It's basically an exclusive leather choice available for sold orders. For someone not getting premium, why would it not be extra like any other leather- at that point, you're already bumping yourself for leather to begin with. Again, there are other examples of additional value to priority 1 leather in other models.

I likened priority 1 to Individual, but I didn't say it was Individual. Indeed, the Individual program does offer higher quality leather. This is not to take anything away from Jade, but I have to confess that there's a reason this leather choice and many others in this category are priority 1- it's creating an exclusivity/rareness for a value, a price that if someone wants it, well, they're willing to pay for it. I can't think of any other reason why. If it was available for stock, then it would be included at no extra charge and would be available to everyone as stock. BMW has warmed up to the idea of opening up some exclusitity and individuality for it's models and for that, there obviously is a charge for admission. Look no further than the new Individual available for the 6 and 7 Series.

Adrian, right now if I ordered a Sedan with ZPP and wanted Lemon, would I have to pay the $1,450? I always thought it was a no cost option, the priority 1s.

According to the bulletin below posted by Jon, pricing for Lemon was effective 9/1/2007.

https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...rity+1+pricing

It's been a no cost option in the past.
