Whoooaa. I don't think it'll be that much, but $50-70k strikes me as "reasonable." I'll say $62,000.

Didnít that M5 with 10 miles on it go for $160k? The silver one the owner bought 2 and drove one and preserved the other?

The only thing wrong with this car is that stupid SAT installed next to the head unit. Car has 10k miles on it in 17 years and the PO had to have SAT and didnít just add it the correct way.

Extremely rare. Only available in Canada per BMWMRegistry. Ad text claims one of 39 Individual orders, and I'd believe it.

The previous owners way overpaid for stuff going to a dealer - $1,500 EACH SIDE for headlights, $1,300 for tires, $1,700 for a detail! All this new owner's gain of course, but wow. Aren't there any indies in Canada?

Read through it. A good example of a well presented car by the seller. Lot's of dealer repairs at high costs. The 4 owner thing is the only negative. This car should sell in the mid to high 30's.

Maybe. MY 2000 and Canadian might hold it a bit below that number.

Frequent BaT seller Glen Shelly has a beautiful 03 Imola/Caramel he's trying to get that much for. Don't think he will with 79K miles, but maybe he thinks he can do better direct than on BaT:

My old M5 had that. It is called "M cloth" or "M textured Alcantara" depending on your source. It was a special order option and I think limited to Canadian and European markets on the E39 M5 and E46 M3.

I miss my M5!

Evan

If you bought/won this car, would you remove the stripes?

Yes. But I wouldn't buy one of those anyways. They sound horrible, they are extraordinarily expensive to repair if you damage a bumper, and the ride is very stiff.

They are extremely fast. Like, 140mph without even trying fast.

Agreed. If I had $174,000 to spend on a car there are a lot of other choices. I think a competition M5 but that would also come with the carbon fiber and fiber glass bumpers.

Doesnít get much better than this. I have no idea where this will end up at but at $55k with 4 days left, Iíll guess $72,000.

Been a while since I posted some BaT E39's:

This one is interesting, low miles, great color combo, poor representation from a listing perspective (pictures and cleanliness). Also don't see many M5's without PDC and shades, I bet it will go for less than we think. Maybe $40k because it's a dealer who seems to not have first hand knowledge of the car and no records:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-bmw-m5-43/

I have no idea on this one. Low miles, 6-speed and Dinan upgrades. I personally do not like look - the wheels, the spoiler delete, titanium silver on gray is not in my top 5 choices of color combos.

Happy New Year! Funny, I've made multiple comments in the Dinan 540 thread, and just about to comment on the Carbon/Caramel. Will be really interesting to see where they go - BaT prices have seemed to be lower lately. Winter?

The M5 seller is being active answering questions and working on better pics, will help the final number. That's one of the cleanest Caramel interiors I've seen.

I have read through the M5 comments but not the Dinan 540 comments (I'll have to go back and look for your input).

Yes, the caramel seller is being very responsive. He supposedly is a dealer but "is not good at taking pictures"? "needs to buy a camera and stop taking pictures with ipad" etc. Seems like a good guy though and I definitely could overlook the presentation to save $10 grand. Should be interesting.

It is an interesting option.
When you push it, the car "jumps" just a bit, to let you know it's alive.
Also, the steering tightens up.

Hate to admit, I was just a bit...intimidated... by it at first.
Kinda like driving with the "DSC" off.
