Front bumper support

I've seen some posts about the way to remove those plastic frames that support the side of the bumper near the side reflectors and apparently they couldn't find a way to remove the without destroying them. Even so, they are hard to remove.
Here is a tool I've made, and hopefully it will fork. 3 or 2 (if using one with double puhing blades)like these are required in order to push all retainers at the same time. They seem to work on a test part but still not sure if they will work when removing them from the car...if there is enough clearance.
So you basically you need two of these, you push them in, then you pull the part downwards and hopefully it will come off.
This tool is made of soft aluminum sheet and finished with a fine sanding disc so it doesn't scratch the plastic at all
I'll let you know if they work.

Good job making a tool to remove the support, those critters are awfully fragile for what they cost to replace. When I r&r-ed my bumper cover last December I was able to remove and reuse one of my supports but the other side broke, I think in part because it was in cold weather which made the plastic brittle. Same thing with most of the plastic fasteners in the door panel, many of them snappedž. I bought one of those 100 piece fastener kits on Amazon for about $10, problem solved.

I've tried to use the tools today but there is not enough space to insert them, because there is another steel sheet behind the plastic support. I had to destroy them. I placed a plastic blade between the support and fender and pulled them down. They were broken anyway that is why I replaced them. But beware, the slots on the fenders will deform that way and the new plastic supports may not fit well. If you flatten the slots and they become concave, it's even worse, because the clips may not go all the way till they click.
