Valve cover and oil filter housing gasket replacement

My 2006 3.0 had some small but ongoing leaks around the valve cover and the oil filter housing. I decided to undertake the project as a whole. I ordered two kits from FCP/Euro for the project. The kits had more than the just the gaskets.

Having spent a whole day doing these two projects, which included the eccentric shaft gasket, the VANOS gaskets and the oil filter housing gaskets and the accompanying bits, I am thrilled with the results. Its runs just a little smoother and I don't have to worry about oil in the alternator or any of the belts.

Its not fun to do it but it is worth it. Im at 118,000 now and hope to see a few more miles.

Next job: water pump, radiator and tank.

Nice Job! Good idea to do the cooling system as preventative maintenance. The only issue you may run into is the lubricant they use at the factory for the snap on hose fittings turns into the equivalent of structural epoxy with age and heat and they can be a real bear to get off.

Funny I just did both mine last weekend at 118k also. Unfortunately mine was necessitated by the loss of my alternator from the ofh leak, so you were wise to get yours done.
