Possibly your ignition switch. According to posts it is inexpensive to replace and an easy DIY.

Another cause would be the ground strap from engine to frame deterioration to point that starter current no longer able to flow.

Do the headlights dim at all when you try to crank it? If so, check battery cables and terminal connections. If not, try wiggling the key in the ignition as you try to crank it. If it is the switch, Autozone sells them. Easy job to change.

My BST (Battery Safety Terminal) blew 2 weeks ago for no reason whatsoever. It's supposed to blow in a crash where your airbags have deployed. It separates the positive connection that goes to the starter and alternator. Check your battery - you should have 2 positive connections, make sure one of them hasn't separated. That damn part is about $225 and is unobtainium in the US right now - I'm still waiting for a replacement from Germany that hopefully arrives this week.

This happened on mine and was the ignition switch. Just to be sure: when you turn it to "start", the lights don't dim and nothing happens. When mine was acting up you could try it several times and it would finally catch.

As others have said, this is a (fairly) easy DIY (look for YouTube videos). The switch can be had for $20-40 (Ebay no-name Chinese), $65 (name brand aftermarket) or $100 (OEM discounted e.g. Pelican).
