Sticky Steering

I have a 2010 328i.
When coming out of a parking spot in reverse and turning the steering wheel all the way to the right it becomes hard to turn it back to the left. It requires a great deal of effort to start turning to the left until there is a noise coming from the front-right side of the car and the steering become unstuck.
After that the steering works normally.
Any idea of the source of the problem?
Thanks

I don't have any suggestions, but if you get it worked out, please post the resolution. I'm developing a similar problem and will follow this thread. I will likewise post if I fix it.

If there is a "pop" or "click" from the right side when the "stuck" part releases, you should be able to hear/ feel the source of the sound if you have a helper turn the wheel while you listen or feel various parts for the sound or feel of the "release."

I can't think of any reason why forward or rearward movement would be required, as opposed to just turning to "full-lock-RIGHT" and then trying to turn wheel back in counterclockwise direction. First suspect would be a rusted ball joint in steering knuckle, or possibly an issue with the RF Strut mounts?

If you ONLY have the sticking during, or just after moving rearward, THAT would be significant.
