Runs and drives rough when cold.

I just purchased a 2003 5 speed and it runs great once driven for a little while. When the car is cold it shakes while idling and the whole car shudders while driving. After about 15 minutes it runs great. It's throwing codes for cylinder 1,3,4 and 6 as well as a multiple misfire code as well a p0174 and p0171. Haven't done anything thing yet. After I check coils and plugs what should I do next?

[ Check, clean and/or replace the spark plugs, coils and boots on all cylinders.
Clean the MAF (mass air flow) sensor, and the throttle body and cables..
Replace the engine air filter, and the fuel filter.
Change engine oil and filter. ]

Reset the adaptations and test again.

I was seeing the same codes a while back and turned out to be a bad o-ring for the DISA, causing a leak. My suggestion would be to do a smoke test to see if there's a vacuum leak. (Pretty easy to build with a paint can, some resistance wire and a few other bits)

I started it up this morning and it ran perfectly. I'll do the smoke test and see what I figure out.

I did a vacuum leak test and smoke was pouring out throttle body boot and also the side of the disa. It didn't look like it was the seal but it was coming out next to the electrical connection. Does this mean the disa itself is bad?

The DISA is pretty easy to take out (5-10mins). Do that and check for cracks. For me it was hard to tell exactly where the smoke was coming from, it looked like from all around the DISA but ended up being resolved by replacing the O-ring. While you have it out, also check the flap and make sure it's in good condition. You DO NOT want to drive around with a broken DISA flap.

This is what it looked like. I'll take it out when I get the chance.
