E39 (1997 - 2003)
The BMW 5-Series (E39 chassis) was introduced in the United States as a 1997 model year car and lasted until the 2004 when the E60 chassis was released. The United States saw several variations including the 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i. -- View the E39 Wiki

98 528i acceleration problem

My 528i is having problems accelerating. When I go to pass a car or come to a yield sign and pull onto the highway (example) it's like there's no power there. It will eventually get up to speed but takes awhile. I've changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, vanos solenoid, cam sensor twice and oil filter with no change. Any advice would be appreciated

For 1998 528i, I posted a trick to Vanos seal DIY w/o removing the Vanos from the engine.
It is in forum.

Yes, use ONLY Beisan seals.
