How to clear warning banner off navigation display

Hello all,
I am the proud new owner of a 2009 335i e90 and I am in love! This is my first BMW and i can't get enough of driving it, but he car has a warning that pops up on the navigation screen when I first start it for the passenger restraint sensor being bad. I have done some research and believe I understand that you can fix this pretty easily, but for the time being I would like to be able to clear the banner warning on the navigation screen because it is covering the time in the top right corner! Is there a way to make this banner warning go away or do you have to fix it for it to go away? I apologize if this has been covered before I looked around but didn't find anything helpful likely because I wasn't using the correct key words. Thanks in advance for any help!

Sorry but Its not going away until you fix it.

In short, It means the system that controls ALL of your air bags has failed.

Cost me $600 to make it go away.
