Spotted a low priced 650i. Would it be worth switching up?

The 650i is going to be much much more expensive to insure and maintain (especially if it's higher mileage). But, if all that's within your budget and you want the car it's absolutely worth it. Just make sure to do your homework and figure out why it's priced so low.

Based on what factors? They are different cars that drive differently. What are you asking?

Hey it's an upgrade from a lower model car to a much higher model car in the lineup.

OMG. Just bcs it is higher in lineup doesn’t mean it is what you want. Quintessential BMW was always 3 series.
650i has N62 engine, and it can be nightmare to maintain. It is heavier in the front, bigger etc. What DO YOU want from your vehicle?

It’s a CHANGE to a different car with different driving dynamics. Are you looking for a big, lazy luxury car experience like a 6-series? Or do you want the dynamic, sporty experience your 3-series provides? No one can answer this question for you as it’s entirely YOUR opinion. Are you asking if a 6-series is a good investment in terms of reliability? Hell no. As for anything else, only you can answer.

VC, you're asking for trouble. Just check the many, many posts vis-a-vis the 6's V8 mill. Oy!

Now, the 3's suspension, even with the "Sport" option, is poorly executed and designed for vile, evil, cruel fate RunFlats. Clearly inferior and inherently limited in scope.

The 6? A car much preferred by beautiful women needing to be pampered. Also no prizes for suspension design.

So. What to do?

Score a jaunty 3; fix suspension. Viola! The car they might've designed appears. How? It's [here] along with a few other salient points.

Wait....wait....want utterly linear handling and power delivery? No limit to grip? But sweet on city streets? Google Calwaterboy's Excellent New Year. Saver yer pennies.

Why are you being a dink? I just asked s simple question - the car came up on my local craigslist and it would have retailed double the value of mine new. Now they are at par. It's a reasonable question and doesnt demand a snotty juvenile response.

Your question makes no sense; people responded, trying to help you out, asking you what your goals are. You came back with, “is it a good deal”, ignoring all the advice people were attempting to offer you. Unless you give some information, the only person who can answer the question you’re asking is YOU, and you’re wasting everyone else’s time.

We gave you reasonable answers. Can you make decision on your own? If not: go get it now.
