Banging in to the V1 like the cupholder made me look at this.

Will you be putting this on the passenger side cup holder?

But did you just pay $150 to engrave " V1" and "Trunk" on that one?

Yep. He was redoing it because of the ding. Called him this morning and stopped it.
Will meet with him tomorrow to see if he can inlay the V1 remote. The vertical contour is close to the panel. The horizontal isn't.

Initially, I wanted to inlay the V1 but it looked too involved.
Since I was banging into it like the cupholder I scratched it and looked into the V1 inlay again.
I cut the rectangle in a spare wrong color panel and it looks doable.
We'll see.
The trunk switch will be intergrated with the console lock swith.
Will have to find another place for the V1 switch from main to remote.

V1 Remote

Can also center the V1.

Thought that the cable would be an issue. It fits fine.

Will add some Dental TAC to support the right side.
TAC gets soft at 200 degrees F.
It gets hard when cooled and you can drill or tap it.
I'm going to glue it to the holder and VHB tape the plate.

Will see tomorrrow if the engraver can do it.

With the remote display installed into the faux drink cup holder, is the display aiming downward or straight toward the seat?
I would look into having it aimed toward your head, so you can view it easier.

Oh yeah - love the Z4 look...very stylish!
Great job Ron.

Great job Ron.
It's a few degrees down. I sit alll the way back tilted.
Not an issue. Eye is ~30 inches away.

Dropped it off yesterday to inlay into the cup opening cover.
Vertical is straight and the horizont convex.
Center is .075" from flat. I didn't calculate the radius since he said that he would do it.

Forgot to bring the master cylinder cover.
He said that he could duplicate the Ate logo with the 200 under it.

Also oredered a valve cover for that job. $197.75r

I like this route you're going with better.

This mod turned out to be very involved. Initial $150 went to $250 plus $60 for parts destroyed.
Three months later he had something for me to try. He agreed with the involved thing.
He made a fixture to hold it to get there. I glued the V1 remote in place. Came out better than I thought.
Second piece will be better time wise. Still have to come up with a way to connect to the right side.

Main V1 unit is on top of the dash. I switch to the remote via a switch at night and when $one is behind me.
