Rear Turn Signal Failure - 2009 328i (e90 LCI)

All -

I have searched and found several posts on this.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=706424

Basically rear turnsignal LEDs are failing. The dealer will only replace the entire unit.

Everyone so far has taken their car to the dealer for a fix. Has anyone fixed this via DIY? I am out of waranty and do not want to spend the cash to replace the entire tail light assembly.

Thanks,

based on the description from the TSB, its corrosion. its single piece unit, so there isnt much you can do aside from taking apart the lamp and checking the contacts, cleaning and resoldering as needed. a replacement lamp is about 175 + shipping.

Hey Orient - Thansk for the reply. Yeah I saw that the standard fix would be replacement lamp for about $170. Sux, a few months out of waranty... I was hopefull someone else tried to play with it.
