Cool Fuel Baffle Fixture for non-M E46s.

Done. And I spent $12.

Thanks to Ben's tips on RE's website and thanks to him again for taking time off to answer my questions. I finally installed the fixture in my car.

This fixture is crucial if you are running on light fuel load when autoXing or tracking your car. I have experienced quite a few times in my last couple of track schools. Every time I try to make a right hand turn, I run into fuel starvation. Can be extremely frustrating and annoying, especially when I was closing the gap against certain *someone* on this forum.

Worry no more! Hamstermobile in back in action on light fuel load!

EDIT: Sorry..should have posted the BEFORE picture.

??? Why would an electronic flash on a modern camera serve as an ignition source? It's a completely sealed component.

Yeah, the flash itself is sealed....the problem is where it interfaces with the camera....I`ve seen trigger voltages (at the hot shoe) in excess of 200 volts....certain flashes (Vivitar 283 being one) are notorious for this....not too surprising when you consider it`s construction....flashes and stun guns have a lot in common.... This applies only to accessory flashes...If the camera has a built-in flash, you should be OK.

Bob

Okay... that makes sense. I wasn't even considering an accessory flash setup (doh!), consumer-grade fully integrated cameras being so ubiquitous these days.

I should have, of course, remembered that there are some bonafide serious photographers out there that own BMWs...
