What did you do to the 5er today?

I put in a new coolant reservoir cap since the original one had actually begun to rot and was allowing some coolant to escape.

After that, I pulled off the flaking, completely deteriorated rear window seal and put in a fresh one.

On a separate note, today the warning light for the license plate lamps came on. I put in some LED bulbs about a month or two ago and everything had been running fine until today. I might have to slap in the old ones again.

Are you going to get it repaired soon? Over the Christmas break, I'm going to have my wheels redone in a gunmetal color...pretty excited for that.

177K miles...you might have one of the highest mileage 550i here on the forum! Mine is just shy of 140k.

I've been thinking of doing the same to my 19's. The winter setup is on the car now, so I can do it any time. I just picked up the car 9 days ago...very minor curb rash on a couple of them, but it bothers me. I'd like to see a photo of yours when finished.

Scroll down in that thread...I was able to find some pictures of our wheels done in a gunmetal finish.

There won't be any high speed runs for me any time soon as my wheels need to be redone and the thrust rod arms are in need of replacement...it'll all be done eventually.

Yes it/she is.

Question, why are cars "She"?
In latin-America it is a carro, male. "el carro", "el coche", "el automobil". So, it makes sense gramatically that it is a male, or he.

Besides, if it is an object, shouldn't it be "it"??

That steering wheel just adds so much more to the car. It looks great! Its on my list of things to do on my fiver with 170k. When your a sucker for these cars your just hooked and it doesn't matter how many miles it took to do an up grade.

Put on a new M5 front bumper on my 535 sedan. The 4th or 5th one in 4.5 years. People who borrow my car don't grasp the concept of lowered stance on coil overs.
Received RB inlets, to be installed on Monday.

Bought a set of ISC N1 coil overs for the e61 wagon. Also a used set of M6 sway bars. Updated MHD Stage 2 to v6 (Beta tester.)

This weekend will be testing a 128GB SSD HDD for the CIC. Hoping to expand the audio partition to 60GB so I can load all my tunes.

Oceans10 - how's the ride comfort and quality on the ICS C/O?

btw - I got gas for my car today and it was under 40bucks for the fill up. I haven't seen gas price this low since 2008.

Oceans10, is it really that easy to swap out the drive? I know technically it should be easy but would the CIC software recognize the larger storage?

The ISC COs arrive next week. There's a thread on 5series.net about them by Island Road. He was the guinea pig for them over the summer and gave favorable review.

Re SSD I have not done it yet. Just tested that the conversion would work. It's possible that the OS will not recognize larger partition, will have to see in a few days.
