Mein Auto: 2003 e39 M5
F/S: 2003 BMW E39 M5 - 67K Miles

For Sale: $26,500
2003 BMW E39 M5 - 67K Miles
Sterling Grey Metallic/Silverstone-Black Interior

Exterior Condition: 8/10
Interior Condition: 9/10

Notable options include:
Cold Weather Package
Power Rear Sunshade/Manual Rear Door Shades
Sport Seats (Two-tone ostrich silverstone/black), Titan-Line Interior Trim
Factory "M Audio" Stereo
Owner installed BMW Aux audio input in the center console
Owner installed upgraded BMW center console cup holder

Recent history:
I purchased the car from Enthusiast Auto Group (EAG) in 2014. At the time, the car had 54K miles and EAG had completed their comprehensive pre-purchase inspection and completed the BMW specified Inspection 2 including fluids, filters, spark plugs, and valve adjustment. Additionally, EAG had proactively replaced the power steering lines & reservoir, rear upper control arms, and differential pinion seal. The wheels had been reconditioned and new Michelin Super Sport tires were mounted. At 66.8K miles (roughly 2 months ago), the vehicle received new transmission fluid, differential fluid, and fresh oil/filter change. Service records available.

Beyond the two owner installed BMW options listed, the vehicle is in stock condition without modifications to the engine, brakes, or drivetrain. The vehicle has a clean title, clean history report with the exception of low speed bumper hit that resulted in a new bumper. Never raced, tracked, or abused. Non-smoker. Please PM to obtain further details, schedule a pre-purchase inspection, or request additional photos. Serious inquiries only, I will not respond to low-ball offers, offers for trades, offers to purchase parts, or payment plans.

Is it me, or are you pricing this above EAG prices?

Suggestion, You may want to check your price, unless you want to leave it for sale for a loooooooong time...

The price is not far off market for a very clean low mile E39. There seems to be 3 peaks for E39 m5 pricing the $30k-$40K for superior under 70k mile ones, the $18-$22k for nice 100k mile ones and the $12k$-$16k for the rough examples with really high miles.

For that price, you could find a E60 M5 which looks way better than the E39 and possibly with less mileage....I did!

To each his own. If we are talking strictly looks, I prefer e39 over e60 any day. Both great cars, though. But your point is that the price is high, and that is true.

You could pick-up a nice 2011 F10 550iX M-Sport for that price and have some money left over.
This car will probably be worth what the seller is asking in about another 10 years. Right now, no one in their right mind would pay that kind of money without it being in museum-like condition. No offense directed to the seller, just my opinion...which is worth its weight in gold.

Agreed.

Now that BMW has moved away from MTs(phasing out), NA engines, and hydraulic steering, these traits are more desirable than ever from BMW's glory days of the true M era.

It's hard to find an E39 M5 in such a condition like the OP has.

The price isn't that outrageous, it's just a little more then what a mint late model with lower miles would sell for

Interesting opinions. I guess EAG has been going broke selling cars at this price for years. Oh wait...no, they've actually been selling them at this (and higher) prices. So in the end we all make decisions based on what we believe the market will do in whatever time horizon makes sense for us. Anyone want to buy a Dino at today's prices? :P

As an unrelated data point, I paid $40k for my 6-owner M5 10 years ago with somewhere south of 40k miles IIRC. If only I hadn't added 100k miles to it

I went through three e39 M5's, then one E60 M5 and now I have a f10 M5, but guess what, e39 M5 is still in my garage as I found another one few months back and bought it. No other M5 has the soul and heart of a e39 M5. Only few understand that. I am pretty sure he can get around $30k for that car. Clean ones are very highly priced.

My Girls are below. Good luck with the sale.

Perhaps send this to the OP in a PM....I don't think anyone wants these types of comments cluttering their FS thread...
