G30 (2017 - Current)
The next generation 5 Series, chassis code G30, arrives at dealers in February 2017. Looking like a scaled down 7 Series and riding on the CLAR platform, the new 5 Series will have a focus on lightweight and sporty performance. Engines options will come from BMW's new B family for the 530 and 540 and a turbocharged V8 for the M550i. Read more about the 2017 5 Series

AARP Discount

There is an AARP discount available for purchasing or leasing a new BMW. I found that out from the dealer section.

The AARP discount is real. My dealer was not aware of it. After I gave him a flyer from a competing dealership he found it in the system and applied it to my existing 540i order.

Here is the link to the ad from a local dealership (not my dealer!!)

http://www.prestigebmw.com/aarp-member-offer.htm

Happy shopping :-)

If you are an AARP member, the form is on the AARP website to print out and should auto fill in your AARP member number. It is a $1,500 FS Lease incentive with a reduction in money factor by .00020.

This is awesome and I think anyone can join AARP regardless of age.

edit: Where's the form? Can you link to it?

Thanks so much for your help, but I cannot find it. i am logged in as a member. I don't see it anywhere and search comes up blank. I started to build a car and didn't see it there as well.

My post came from my CA in an email. I called AARP. He said go here and log in with your email and pass word. Also you can call TrueCar at 800.584.5004.

My dealer in California says they have never heard of this AARP program, and I called AARP, BMW FS and BMW Genius and none of them could give me any help. Does anyone have any detail on the program, whether it is dealer-specific, etc.? Thanks

I did call that number. They said in order to get AARP benefits through TrueCar, I would have to go through the TrueCar website which would then send me to an affiliated dealer. I have a car that I am supposed to pick up from my local dealer tomorrow morning so I'm trying to figure out if I can get the benefit of the AARP program with that dealer. Based on my research thus far, it doesn't look good. Thanks

Just ask your dealer to enter the AARP discount. That is what I did and he obliged. It was very simple and quick. And I had ALREADY placed an order....

Where was the "here" you went to and logged in? Do you have a specific link/URL? Is it an actual auto buying form or just the membership card print out thing?

He had NO trouble finding it in the BMW system.
I say we make them work for their commissions :-)

Maybe this is an east coast thing. My dealer has never heard of it and I cannot find any west coast dealers who provide this discount.

MY CA in Suburban Chicago says that I'll get it provided that I am a member AARP. Unfortunately I now qualify and I am a member.

The AARP offer with its MF reduction is much more valuable now that BMW has increased the MF this month.

Have people been getting the money factor reduction to take the money factor beneath the BMW Buy Rate like the MSDs?

Looks like it based on the other AARP thread: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...1&postcount=51

I thought I'd bump this up there, hoping others see this and take advantage. At 33 years old, I have my AARP membership ($12 for the first year), and my dealer was easily able to find the promo and apply it using the contract number referenced above. I received the $1500, plus the reduction in MF.

Absolutely. And it's only valid until the middle of May, so it won't last long!

I've seen May 18th & May 21st as expiration dates. Not sure which one is official and which one is from the dealer.
