Those Germans are a literal bunch, but they make a fine luxury car. And for 40 years now BMW has been cosseting the upper crust with its 7 series.
To celebrate the limousine’s 40th anniversary, the automaker has released the BMW 7 Series Edition 40 Jahre.
Just 200 of these extra special 7 Serieses will be made, and they’re being offered in a choice of two very special colors: Frozen Silver metallic and Petrol Mica metallic. Both are applied in a “particularly elaborate process” and help to highlight the BMW high-gloss Shadow Line.
With 20-inch wheels, the M Aero package, and a signet on the B-pillar letting everyone know that this is the 40th anniversary edition.
Inside there’s an Alcantara headliner and a choice of either Smoke White/Chiba or Smoke White/Black interior, both made of the finest leather. A koala bear lost its lunch hangout so that the Eucalyptus straight-grained Smoke Brown high gloss trim could be made, meanwhile.
And as on the B-pillar, the rear-seat pillows and the instrument cluster bear the 40 Jahre signet.
The trim package can be ordered on any 7 Series and there’s no word yet on how much it will set you back._a2_
