BMW has just revealed a pair of hotter SUVs. Though if you were hoping for a full-on X7M or new X5M, then these aren't quite it. But we don't think you'll mind.

That's because the X5 M50i and X7 M50i get the 4.4L TwinPower V8 from the new 850i. That means massive power for these SUVs. 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. That's up 67 horses and 74 torques over the xDrive50i models they replace. It's enough power to get the X5 to 60 in 4.1 seconds and the larger X7 there in 4.5. That's a pair of massively quick massive SUVs.

They use an eight-speed automatic and have all-wheel drive. Plus a new M sports rear diff that's electronically controlled to send power to each wheel. Reducing wheelspin. Adaptive M dampers are standard, with the X7s getting adaptive air suspension standard. The air is optional on the X5. These are also some of the only SUVs with launch control for max traction.

20-inch alloys are stock on the X5, and you can add on 21 or 22's. The X7 comes with 22s, but you can pick 21-inch wheels instead. The X5 M50i comes with adaptive LED lights and the X7 gets Icon adaptive LED with Laserlight. Those lights are optional on the X5.

The X5 M50i will start from $82,150 with the X7 M50i coming in at $99,600 plus destination. Production is set to start in August._a2_
