From www.f650.com:
BENKA APPROVED FOR GUINNESS RECORD - 5/15/2003
For the record, Benka's trip as reported in Guinness World Records:
"Benka Pulko (Slovenia) travelled 180,016 km (111,856 miles) on her
solo motorcycle journey through 69 countries and seven continents, which started in Ptuj, Slovenia, on 19 June 1997 and ended at the same location 2000 days later on 10 December 2002. Believed to be the first ever motorcycle journey to take in all seven continents, the trip lasted exactly 2,000 days." - Guinness World Records
Note from Benka - So officially I have two Guinness records.
The longest solo female motorcycle circumnavigation by distance, and
the longest solo female motorcycle circumnavigation by time. They both
might be broken some day.
Guinness is recognizing my journey as "Believed to be the first ever
motorcycle journey to take in all seven continents" but not listing
that as a record. That makes sense because when you think about it, it is not a record, it is a first. It is not the Guinness Book of World Firsts, it
is the Guinness Book of World Records.
