  1. X4 F26 (2015 - Current)
I purchased an interior ambient lighting kit as well as the exterior Angel Wing lights. Has anyone ever installed these or anything similar before? Planning to attempt in a few weeks.
  2. F30 / F31 / F32 / F33 / F34 / F36 (2012 - current)
Check out the ambient door lighting upgrade ($51 w/ shipping, plastic inserts - flex, not 3D printed) from AmbientModz.com, which I ordered a couple days ago but haven’t received yet (I believe it’s shipped from the UK). It’s the only viable simple solution I’ve been able to find, having...
  3. X5
The ambient lights in my 2022 X5 xDrive40i are flashing at a slow steady pace and I don't know why. Any clues? Can't seem to find a reason or fix for it. It's not impeding anything in the vehicle.
  4. F07 Gran Turismo (2010 - 2017)
Hello, Recently I bought ‘09 F07 with retrofitted Adaptive LED headlights and full LED taillights, FRM and ZGW were changed as well. Now the problematic part 😥 Interior lights (regular and ambient) don’t work since the retrofit. Previous owner told me that the guy who made retrofit for him told...
  5. X5 E70 (2007 - 2013)
So today, car threw codes - P0072 - Ambient Temp U0155 - Network P0674 - Powertrain After much googly searching, and this forum, I'm at a loss as to where to find the Ambient Temperature Sensor unit. I've seen many pics and videos of them exposed under the passenger side area, but our 2013...
  6. F06 Gran Coupe (2013 - 2018)
Helllo fellow Bimmer owners, I own a 2016 BMW 6 (F06) Gran Coupe, and I have a dilema with the ambient lighting. Let's start from the beginning, my car is equipped with the 6WB digital cluster which is marvellous, however at night I find it way too bright, therefore I always dim it using the...
  7. X1 F48 (2016 - current)
Hello all, I’m a little confused about the ambient lighting. When it’s night and I pull into my garage, and leave the car, the headlights go off after a few seconds and the interior white lights dim and turn off simultaneously. However, the orange lighting on the doors and passenger airbag area...
  8. E39 (1997 - 2003)
Installed a new ambient temperature sensor yesterday. It reacted as expected, going from -40C to actual temperature over a period of time....about half an hour. Sometime later in the day, it started reading 22.4 MPH. This reading has remained constant, displaying immediately when starting up...
  9. X5 E70 (2007 - 2013)
Hello everyone. I've just purchased a pre-owned 2013 X5. I absolutely love it. The only thing I'm having a hard time with is how dark the cabin is at night. My Acura had nice blue ambient footwell lighting at night and I got used to it. Now I know that there are small optical conductor strips...
  10. X5 E53 (1999 - 2006)
When I had my e46 I had to replace the ambient air sensor and it was a piece of cake. With the e53 its not in the same location. It appears to be inside the air duct next to the fog lights. That much I have gotten from googling. But I cannot find an e53 specific DIY on how to replace it. Do...
  11. BMW Coding and Programming
Hi I've got a 2012 F10. Has anyone found out how to get the ambient interior lighting to stay on high brightness regardless of the brightness of the instrument cluster/Navi screen? I've tried several tips from the forum, but nothing seems to really work ;) Thanks :)
  12. BMW Coding and Programming
Has anyone found the correct coding steps to keep the ambient lights on max even with dimmed cluster/screen? The cluster and screen can be a bit too bright when driving at night but as soon as the dimmer is used, the ambient lights disappear before you know it ;)
  13. 7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
This is probably already well known to most of you, but to me it came as a pleasant surprise: If you dial down the instrument lighting to its lowest brightness, it then starts to react to the ambient light brightness. In short: It dims down when entering a dark tunnel, and brightens up when you...
  14. E46 (1999 - 2006)
I have had my E46 325ci for a little over a year now and it has never told me a temp for outside. So I did some research, and its causing my A/C to not work, and the Check Engine light to come on and the sensor is supposed to be front left wheel and in the fender liner, I check there is nothing...
  15. Do-It-Yourself H.Q.
I've done some research on the BMW ambient temp sensor (measures outside temp), and have found that virtually all BMW models use the same sensor. They cost about $30 and up from online sources. Fortunately, they are available in bulk for less than $1, with a caveat. For the bulk buy, you will...

  17. E46 (1999 - 2006)
Hey all, I have a 2002 325i, and I'm having trouble figuring out why my ambient temperature reading is always -40F. I don't know what the problem is with it Here is what I know so far: *The previous owner said the sensor was damaged when he backed up and pulled out the bumper from a curb and...
  18. E90/E91/E92/E93 (2006 - 2013)
I have a 2007 335i coupe and the ambient light strip at the passenger side rear seat has gone out. Well not completely out, when I look at it closely it's become very dull to the point it's not really casting any light at all. Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix it. I'm off to the dealer...
