I have replaced my DME only, without replacing CAS or key. I have deleted the EWS code and attempted to synchronize the DME with the CAS with ISTA-D, but it still wouldn't start.
Any idea what should I do next?
Do I need to use a different tool to align or synchronize the DME...
Rebuilt my n47 engine and it started up again just fine. Then turned it off, put some plastic bits on and it's not started since.
Brake lights stay on, changed the brake pedal switch, no joy.
Changed the battery, tried it with the IBS disconnected, no joy.
I starts when I press start...

I bricked my CAS module on my 2008 335i and I'm trying to replace with donor parts from a totaled 2007 335i. I have the donor DME, CAS and key fob (and locks).

I have a 2011 335D that came with no keys...a new dealer key didn't work, so I purchased a BMW Multi Tool 7.7 and made one. The car recognizes the key, accessories all work fine, it cranks but no start.
I have a fault code:
Error 0x2E3c 2E3C EWS-Manipulationsschutz

It's a 335D and we purchased the car...
My 08 550i has a four year old battery. There are no messages in the iDrive. When I press start the engine sounds like it's cranking normally. But, it does not start.
I am not completely convinced about the battery being the sole problem. I temporarily hooked up the battery from my Honda Pilot...
