I pulled my idler pulley and replaced it with a new one and changed my belts, ran the engine with out my fan clutch on for a second to make sure the belts tracked right and all seemed good. I put my fan clutch back on and now it won't turn over..... no idea what's going on.

So I go to remove the fan on my '02 325i and it's so damn tight that the tool to hold it in place breaks off and falls to the bottom of the engine bay. Turn it around and try to use the other end, and it still won't budge. Any advice? I'm very new to this EDIT: got it now, how exactly does one...

I just got my car back from the shop, had the radiator, thermostat, fan clutch, and serpentine belt replaced. It drives and sounds perfectly fine, however it is telling me to check the coolant level, which should be full, and it's telling me to check something else but the display is pixelated...

Hello friends, I'm here to report that I finally was able to do the Mechanical fan Delete and Aux Fan delete. I am noticing no coolant temp difference, as a matter of fact the coolant temp never goes over 97c with no fan on at all. I been using the OBC hidden functions and a scanner to monitor...

I am working on my buddy's 2000 323i and this is my first time working on a foreign model. He has severe oil leaks which have been identified to be the oil pan gasket & crankshaft seal. 1) The oil pan does not have a typical bolt plug so I assume it is a torque head. Does anyone know off-hand...

    - Ever wondered where did that missing parts gone from a worn out belt??? :) (and eventually not just the missing ones goes there the whole material from the grooves) --- - Oh that's easy: It's just falls off and goes away like small dust. No? :dunno: - Yes mostly but not all. It seems that we...

This is a little hard to explain so bare with me....recently the a/c started doing some funky stuff..what is it doing? well when the car is first started the a/c seems to blow a decent temp not to cold though which bothers me, But as the car warms up so does the air. one thing i noticed is the...

OK so I may be dumb. I have shot it up with liquid wrench, I have 1 1/4 inch wrench. I am facing the engine and trying to turn it clockwise towards the drivers side. I am using a long screwdriver to hold the water pump in place. No luck at all. I am in California the weather is nice to...

What brand wrench have you used to remove the fan clutch, I bought a 32 mm wrench from home depot and it doesn't fit. The wrench is too thick to get to the bolt. What brand wrench should I buy?
  11. E36 M3 (1995-1999)
Ok so I've had my '97 M3 E36 for just over a year now and it's been blowing apart clutch fans and ruining radiators since day one. So, the other day I'm driving home for an emergency when this thing decides it's time to go and puts a big huge hole in my radiator. I may have pushed it a little...

I can't tell if this is the fan clutch, water pump, or something else. I notice that the fan clutch wobble after the car warm up a bit. It also make a clunking and whining noise. I cannot figure it out...

I own a 1997 528i it has 99500 miles on it. Every winter sine I have owned it, something seems to go wrong with it. This year after a huge snow fall, then next day it was -14F outside. I let the car warm up before I drove it the 10 min. to work. Before I went to work I decided to get gas first...

Alright so my 1995 325i doesn't have heat. I assume the problem is that my fan clutch won't disengage. I tried the newspaper test and it wouldn't stop (engine was dead cold.) The engine won't get up to temperature, but the needle does move up about one notch after running awhile. I'm guessing...

Hello Everyone I need to know if replacing the fan clutch can be done by a novice. I see where it goes but I'm not sure what's going to happen once I get her apart. If you have experience replacing one I would appreciate your input. I have a 2003 X5 3.0 E53.

2004 330xi 164,000miles Here's another overheatiing problem that is costing me more than the car is worth- Yes it overheating 5 times in 45 days - each time my local garage (not a BMW garage) fixed what is broken and sent it out the door. Now the car is 1000 miles from home and I do not trust...

I am new to the board and I inherited my brothers 1997 528i. It had the common over-heating problem and he gave up on it. I had a local shop put in a used engine and everything was good until the warranty ran out. Now it is getting hot and cooling back down when I rev the engine. I found the...
