Hi All To cut a long story short I bought an E90 3 Series 320i with the horrid N46 engine back in 2012. It's always had an oil leak which I was told is not major and can be topped up every now and then which is what I've been doing for the last 5 years or so, until a few month ago when it...

We have a BMW 320i SE Touring 2007. The blowers work fine and the AC works well too but we just can't get any heat from the blowers. I have purchased a Diagnostic Kit and have an error for the Auxiliary Water Pump. I'm a complete novice when it comes to this wort of thing but could this be the...

I know this post shoukd be on the x5/6 board but it seemed rather silent lately. To my question: I am considering about installing an engine heater to my X5 40d 2011 which works by heating and rotating the coolant fluid of the car itself and heats up the engine in that way. I recently found out...
  6. E30 (1982 - 1993)
Hello E30 enthusiasts! I have a 1989 E30 and also a bit of a problem. There is a loud tapping noise coming from the dash but only at a certain rev range (around 3k rpm). The problem seems to be related to the heating but everything seems to work fine. One thing I noticed is that the if I press...

Hello everyone. Made the plunge and got myself a tidy 2010 530d GT with 50k miles on the clock. Owning a BMW before i picked up quickly how various bits work and navigating around the idrive however I still have a few questions that the forum might be able to help me with. 1) For some reason...

Weird problem on my 30i Sorry about the long winded problem description A while ago I started getting the coolant low warning every few weeks or so, added coolant it was OK for a while. One mechanic replaced one of the hoses. It seemed to slow the leak down to once a month or so. But still...
  9. E34 (1989 - 1995)
Hello everybody, I own an 1991 BMW E34 520i and I have a problem . The problem is that whatever temperature I set on the gauges, I always get only warm/hot air coming out of the vents in the windshield and foot area and cold air in the dasboard and door vents. My heating radiator was...

OK - So as I was working on my car, I came accross a sledom used feature that seems to have quit working while I was not using it! I refer to the residual heat feature on the E60s - the button you push to allow a small coolant pump to push still hot coolant through the heater with the key off...

So i have a 525xi that just hit 127K miles, Unfortunately it is having a few issues. I just purchased a 2000 328Ci. It seems that the heat only works when the car is moving. I can hear the blower but no air come out of the front dash and side vents, some air comes from the defrost vents. I tested the A/C but no cold air is coming from anywhere. Could the A/C issue be symptomatic...

Hi all, Having some serious hot spots on the driver's side seat (lower) when the heater is set to high (passenger's fine; I swapped the switches to eliminate that as a problem); my guess is that there's a broken wire or two within the element, causing extra voltage to route through another...
