I tried to start this thread a couple of days ago as my first bimmerfest post, but it said something about awaiting moderator approval and hasn't appeared. Some of my thought process is posted in various replies to others on this board. I'm a newbie to BMWs but no stranger to engine...

BMW 2008 550i Coolant return pipe. NOT THE COOLANT TRANSFER PIPE. This pipe goes into the coolant pump directly above the coolant transfer pipe. It just pulls out of the coolant pump when you replace the pump. Mine is leaking. Anyone know how to replace this pipe?

I have no idea what this is. I broke it while removing the manifold on accident. Anyone know what this is called and where I can get it. My dealership here is useless and doesn't want to help as they want me to bring it in for service and make money. Sigh.. Also was replacing the crank...

Today when I parked my car and was walking away, I turned back and saw a little bit smoke releasing from the grill. I did not notice a smell (but I am sick so my sense of smell is currently very weak). I opened the hood and noticed the pipe was wet, but its wet only at a specific spot. Is this a...

Hi guys, I been reading all kinds of saying about the stock plastic charge pipe is gonna be a "time bomb"! Is it really that bad? the plastic pipe really gonna explode some day? Why is BMW putting such a under developed part in a M car? I dont know if it is necessary to change the charge...

Has anyone noticed that about 95% of exhaust on X35i comes out of driver's side and the remainder out of other side? I kept noticing driver's side was much dirtier around the exhaust (white X5) vs other side. Even under high RPMs almost nothing comes out of passenger side. Is it just mine...
