i have an 01 bmw 330ci with a blown engine i found another car real cheap thats a 01 bmw 325i are those engine blocks themselfs interchangeable? if not can you please give me some information on what engine comes in the bmw 330i and what years will work :dunno: thank you very much

The blocks are the same but the crankshaft and the connecting rods are different. Basically, the M54B25 engine has a shorter stroke than the 3 liter M54B30 engine. And the M54B30 engine has low tension oil control rings.

There are plenty of 3 liter engines out there from the 330 that should drop right in. I wouldn't try to get too creative, you'll end up paying for it later.

Get the same model engine (3.0 liter) from a scrapyard, bolt it in, and you`ll be good to go.
