While waiting at a light, my 02 325i (102,000 miles)suddenly died. Started up again, and the engine was sputtering, lacked power, backfired, etc. Sometimes it straigtened out, but it threw PO 300, 1351 and 1353 codes. Gave it smoke test, no leaks detected. I thought it might be fuel pump, so I switched it out, same symptoms, after the engine warmed up, it staggered while idling at the traffic light. Same codes.
I then switched out #5 & 6 coils, same symptoms at idle.

The coolant is dissipating somewhere; head gasket or crack in head? Stumbles at cold start up until water is burned off No mayo on dipstick or valve cover cap. I pour 1/2 cup water in radiator ea morn. I dont know if thats related, but I have big troubles.
Thanks for any help!

I would work out why the car is using coolant next. Perform a Cylinder pressure test and or a leak down test next.
