quick question who would win in a straight line race? both STOCK.

My money would be on the 545i :)

I havent done any research but would say 545 due to it being same V8 as 4.4L 745 engine and the 545 is much lighter then 750.

E92. Look at the link I posted above, I was a little surprised also. The small horsepower advantage the 750 has is definately lost because it is so much heavier.

I plan on ordering some mtec v2's from you when i get the courage to drop my bumper. Please don't be mad and send me an empty box.;)

545 is my bet, but the 5-series is a huge drop off in comfort and features compared to the 7. I briefly considered and drove one before getting this 7 I have. The 5-series just made me miss the 7-series. It's kind of cheap inside.

Both are heavy; the 7 (4,500lb) is considerably heavier than the 5 (3,968 lbs). It boils down to the good ol' power-to-weight ratio. All things being equal, i.e. 4.8L V8 w/ 6-sp AT and rwd driven by drivers of equal skill and talent, any 5 should consistently wax any 7 in a quarter mile showdown. A 750i has a power/weight ratio of 12.5 lb/hp, while a 545i's is 11 lb/hp. I'd put my money on the 5-series.

I raced my friends 535 and without him launching, I beat him off the line but then he would pull on me. When he launched he raped me by a couple of cars and kept pulling away. A 545 would rape even harder. But when I raced my friends 750, the white one I posted on forgiato wheels, he could not get away from me eventhough he was still a tiny bit ahead. So a 545 would be faster than a 750.

Anyone swapped differentials to gear lower?

i think the 7 is meant to be a highway cruiser

its not gonna be the same car cruising at 80mph with a higher gear ratio

its gonna accelerate faster but its gonna rev way too high on the freeway

BUT

it would be a good mod only if it was only a little bit of change, not too much
