After reading some previous post on this topic here is what i am planning to do

Tranny: Royal Purple Syncromax

Diff: OEM (aka Castrol SAF-XJ) WITHOUT FM
(I think the revised oil (MTF-LT-2) fluid doesnt have FM...and I called my local BMW stearlership to confirm)

It seems like you can get the SAFXJ fluid fairly easy these days (since the Skyline and other cars uses the same fluid)

http://www.amazon.com/GT-R-NISSAN-DIFFERENTIAL-FLUID-SINGLE/dp/B00315PLSW

for about $40 a liter

or here

http://www.speedforsale.com/nissang...ential-fluid-castrol-safxj-75w140-p-1159.html

different package...but same stuff

Correct?

Also how much fluid do i need?

Tranny: 1.5Liter?? (that's what the local stealership told me....but it seems VERY low....shouldnt it be about 2-3Liters??)

Diff: 1.1Liter??

Also planning to get some new tranny mount....UUC or Rogue ??? I saw some good reviews on the Rogue.....anyone got the UUC mount?

I'd go with the Rogue tranny mounts, UUC isn't too great at customer service and the rogue is plenty beefy with zero added NVH.

Aren't the M Model Zs supposed to get the BMW fluid with "FM". Or is this expensive fluid required only if the diff makes noise? Confused.

So is it 1.5 or 1.8L?

Also what would you recommend FM or no FM?
No FM for me.
You'll need two liters/quarts and pump it in until some starts dripping out of the fill hole. Insert new O-ring plug, torque, and you are done
