I know they say your car will overheat with 100% antifreeze/coolant, But can someone explain to me why the BMW label recommends:

NORMAL Conditions 50/50 Mix of antifreeze and water protects up to 265F

But for SEVERE Conditions they recommend a 60/40 mix of antifreeze and water that protects to a HIGHER temp of 272F.

If that's so then wouldn't it make sense that 100% antifreeze will have a higher boiling point just like Evans NPG+??

It's chemistry. Mixtures have an inherently higher boiling point than pure solutions. Past a certain concentration, the boiling point starts to drop. Different substances have different optimum concentrations. The Evans NPG+ is a mixture of two different kinds of coolant, which happens to yield a higher boiling point than the coolant/water mixture.
