16:9 Nav. Replacement Screen
am just wanting to gauge the interest of this idea. Also, I want to start off by saying I am not a vendor or potential vendor, I am just an E38 owner who needs this part and figured that if I can help out others in the process I would do it. Members helping members.
Anyway here is the situation. In my particular car the colors are washed out/faded on my 16:9 LCD Navigation Screen. I really want to replace it, especially since I just bought an MKIV Nav. Unit.
I read the write up for DIY that Miss BimmerLV posted on changing out the screen. It seems easy enough and figured this is a cheaper fix then either sending it off or buying a new/used unit.

So I searched and searched and finally found a distributor that sells the replacement 16:9 SHARPLCD screens. After going back and forth with emails. If I order 10 or more I can get a pretty significant savings on my one, and then I was thinking I could sell the other units and pass the savings onto other members who have issues with their screen like washed out colors, broken or cracked or scratched up screens, pixels missing, etc.
Here is what I can tell you about the screens, they are Sharp, direct replacements they come with a 6 month warranty that would start from when I get them, but they are transferable. The company also claims they have great customer service and so far in the communication I have had with them they are pretty good and helpful.
Anyway, if I am doing math correctly, if people were interested and they lived in the continental U.S. I am thinking cost shipped would run in the area between $193-$199 per screen. I am pretty sure the screen would fit in a small USPS Flat Rate Box and that is the shipping costs I am taking into consideration. If you live outside the U.S. I would be happy to look into shipping there just ask me.
I don't want to get stuck with 10 or more units (which is how many I need to get them at the price) because that would defeat the purpose.
I know they fit the E38 I am positive they fit other models too.
