1984 733i Auto. Transmission Help

Hello,

I am not altogether new but it has been awhile since I posted anything.

1) I have a BMW 733i, automatic trans, 4 door sedan in black.
The transmission I believe needs to be replaced as it barely moves when in drive however the reverse seems to be ok or was when I parked it.
I am very much in need to find out what Transmission this car actually takes.
I have tried to be nimble in finding the numbers but am have a really rough time with it.
I have looked under the car around on the transmission but just can't seem to find it.
So I really need some help here. please.

Can anyone help narrow this/transmission type down for this car and year model? Please?

2)Also... I was given a transmission recently from a elderly friend through a friend sort of thing (as he was trying to help) but I know it's Not the right one I can use for my car. He says it was suppose to have came off a bmw 733i but I don't know and it is definitely Not the right year model either. It has the words that you would think to find in german on it like:
GETRIEBE
SERIAL
STUCKLISTEN
MODEL
ZF GETRIEBE GMBH
SAARBRUCKEN
(on a green plate on the transmission itself so I know its German) I just don't know how I can find out definitely and specifically what vehicle it came out of.)

What I am additionally trying to find out is:
how can I tell what bmw or European car it came out of by using the transmission serial # or
the ZF transmission part number such as 1055 - 000027
or
the ZF transmission type such as 5HP-30
or
the customer transmission number such as PL20365 ?

Please Help Me Someone?

I hav had my post up and am surprise not one response yet other than my own.
I have waited a long tie to get this car back on the road. If anyone knows anything about the 733i transmissions this can help. Any help at this point really is appreciated.
I have one transmission that doesn't look like it will fit but I don't know because I can't tell for sure what BMW year and so forth it came out of.
Then also, I can't seem to locate the transmission number on the one I already have mounted in my czar that I know needs replacing.
So, If someone could respond this would be helpful.

It looks like you need a zf 4hp22 transmission

Here's what your gearbox is from, going by PL20365. (which are the last 7 digits of the original chassis number).
E46 05/2003
325 Ci convertible
M54 LHD.
In other words, it won't fit your 733i.
