Hey guys
I am going to be buying a 1986 325i .
The owner said it is a 325i , he sent me a pic , the rpm is 5k ,
Did he mistaken the E model for an i ?
Or in 1986 they came with 5k rpm
Thanks

Get the VIN and go to one of the many sites that can tell you how the car came off the line. Then you can ask the seller some questions. Maybe an I motor was swapped in.

Don’t put down us E owners  As mentioned above the Es are torquey engines and fun to drive.

Car a one owner since new , sat for 5 years in a barn , owner started it every now and then , two years outside, last started a year ago , now cranks no start.
Down side ,it is an auto .
I decided to pass as car needs a lot .
Tires
Radiator
Timing belt
Paint faded
Driver seat shot
Couple hit needs to be pulled out .
And who knows what else .
So a lot of time and $ and ur gonna end with an E automatic tranny .
Not worth the trouble.
I am on the hunt for a 5speed 325i .
I don't care if it needs work as I can tackle it.
