Hello,
After recently servicing my 1986 BMW E28 520i Lux I now have low compression on all cylinders. All around 4.5bar/65psi
This was tested hot and only a minor increase when doing a wet test (small amount of oil on the top of each piston)
During the service I have done the following:
Replaced the head gasket
Replaced the rocker cover gasket
Replaced all the head bolts and torqued to spec.
Oil and filter change
Flushed the cooling system and refilled with new
Replaced the spark plugs and checked for sparks ok
Replaced the Distributor cap
Resprayed the rocker cover and Intake manifold
Cleaned all fuel injectors and replaced o-rings, tested ok
Checked all hoses and clamps for vacuum leaks
Tested MAS ok (removed when running and cut-out)
Replaced Water Pump Belt
Replace Power steering belt
Replaced Timing belt (See TDC Photos for alignment)
Managed to drive car round the block and really struggled with power, cut out on the drive at low revs.
Also, struggles to start without jump leads from another car!
Any ideas what could be causing low compression across all cylinders, what should I do next?! :?
