I'm looking at swapping out the auto in the 535i that I bought for 300$ does anyone know where I can buy a used or new manual transmission for it? I can get all the parts I need but I haven't been able to find the transmission itself. if anyone can send me links to find one or anything like that that would be great.

Search around in junkyards. Also check for part out listings on Facebook and Craigslist, and car-part.com. They might be a bit more expensive on car-part, but occasionally full service junkyards that list on there will have what you need.
