My 1993 320 has developed a clunk from the rear when cornering both directions. It appears to be from the rear suspension. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what could be causing it.:)

First thing to check buddy would be the rear shock mounts (R.S.M).

After that all the linkages that have bushes.

Hope this helps

+1 on the RSM's. I'd wager that far above bushings.

If it does happen when you change gears, then it could be related to you propellor/drive shaft. Althouh I hope not and I'm sure nor do you ! ! !

What if there is a slight clunk when shifting? What should I be looking for in the drive shaft that might indicate problems?

thanks

yup, could be the RSMs. but here is a return question - can you actually see their condition easily wihtout jacking up the car and taking the wheels off?
