Hey Gang,

Forum newbie here. I have a 1993 318i, out for a driver the other day and all the gauges in my cluster just quit working. I have been searching around through forums for answers, looks like it's a pretty common issue. I can't seem to find a replacement cluster anywhere reputable (other than spending $1200 at a dealership). Any suggestions on either possible fixes to look at, or somewhere to get a replacement cluster?

Thanks y'all.

Welcome to Bimmerfest!

Check your fuses (with a meter, not eyeball) before buying a replacement cluster. Also, remove the cluster, clean all the contacts/harness plugs, and try it again. These things don't typically fail all at once unless it's connections or power to the cluster. The gauges themselves are pretty rugged.

If you're determined to swap out the cluster, look on eBay. There are usually some on there for WAY cheaper than dealer cost. And you can use a 325/328 cluster by simply swapping your coding plug to the new cluster.
