Return the sensor to oreillys and buy the OE CPS from a reputable source (ECS, FCP, etc), or better yet shell out another 40 bucks and buy the original BMW CPS. These cars don't like cheap aftermarket sensors.

Sidenote, just thought it was interesting that your scanner is branded Bosch. It looks identical to a Actron one. The display is exactly the same. Looks like the case is just a different color.

normally the cps wont cause misfires, but it can. an off brand cps can cause who knows what. get an eom one. when mine went bad (99 528i) it was giving me problems long before the code showed up. yours being a 6 cyl, it applies to all 6 cyls, not just bank one. what leads you to say cyl 3 isnt working? im not seeing anything on your scanner about a cyl 3 or cyls 4,5 and 6 misfiring.
