Talk about a difficult installation!

Still getting everything organized here, but thought I'd throw these 2 pictures up :D

The installation itself was maybe 15 minutes. Preparing for the installation took close to 2 hours.

Did I get anything out of it? Well, it looks nicer. :D

And the cost?
About $1500. I can probably get $1000 for my old navigation, making the upgrade cost around $500.

I wasn't really going to take off my trim to clean behind it, contrary to popular belief. :)

I've been waiting on parts since March 4th. They just arrived this afternoon.

So when are you gonna put the Japan-market DVD drive in? :D

Way to go! :thumb:
BTW, who manufactures the 2 NAV heads?

I hope you saw there is a mid year change to the 2002's, I assume you will be retrofitting those new parts too.:thumb:

Philips makes the 4:3 head.

Alpine makes the 16:9 head.

Maybe I can snag an 02 vin after I finish all my 2002 retrofits. I'll be ready just in time for 2003, and a whole new slew of retrofits. :D
Al nice job:thumb: I'm surprised that you kept in a secret:rolleyes:

Is there really a $1000 market for the old one or have the Z fumes really gotten to you:dunno:

I suppose we'll find out soon. :)

I'm holding on to my old nav for a week or so in case something goes terribly wrong. :)

Aha, something else I have that you want.:D I think the '03 coupe will be getting a facelift, Jon S's post hinted at that....now that's a retrofit I want to see you do, with DIY pix.:thumb:

Why don't you install it in the headrests ? :D
