2004 bmw 330ci power steering fluid question

I have a 2004 bmw 330ci.. changing the power steering reservoir and hoses. the orignal power steering caps shows "ATF".. the fluid that is currently in the power steering reservoir is a clear and not any shade of red like ATF.. Any suggestions?

Since you are replacing the hoses and reservoir, flush fluid and use ATF, (Dex/Merc or Dexron VI)
